Land Connections: Elche is connected to the Mediterranean coast and Europe via the A-7 motorway, which is part of the European route E-15. Additionally, the N-330 highway, a major artery of the state’s basic network, connects the province of Alicante with the center of the Peninsula. Complementing these routes is a network of roads including the N-340, connecting Alicante, Elche, and Murcia through Orihuela, and the picturesque N-332, which links the coast of Elche with other tourist destinations. Recently, the Alicante-Cartagena motorway (A-32) was inaugurated, establishing a direct connection between Elche and both cities.
Railway and Bus Transport: Elche occupies a strategic position on the commuter rail line that connects Alicante and Murcia, with a high frequency of services facilitating connection from any point in Spain. The railway network crosses the city via an underground route and has two passenger stations in the urban center, as well as a stop in the district of Torrellano.
Additionally, the high-speed train service (AVE) provides a direct connection between Madrid and Elche, reducing travel time to just 2 hours and 22 minutes and further strengthening communications with the city.
Elche also boasts a modern bus station, located next to the railway station. From this station, regular services connect both nearby localities and major national and international cities.
Air and Sea Transport: Elche benefits from excellent connections thanks to its airport, Alicante-Elche Airport, located within the city’s limits. Additionally, the A-7 motorway, the nearby port, and railway connections complete the range of transportation options offered by the city.
